This publication was created in response to numerous inquiries about a source of information on microscopic anatomy of salmonids from researchers, professors, students, biologists, and others in fisheries and related fields.
This atlas includes 50 plates in black and white, supplemented by 12 in color, all with detailed captions. Many significant structures or areas are shown at high magnification. The text of each of the 13 chapters has been generally limited to introductory comments. Because the bibliography is an essential part of this atlas, references are not limited to those mentioned in the text, but provides additional selected literature citations at the end of each chapter as sources of more detailed and specific information.
