WiLD Scout Adventures
Earn your scout badges while having a great time at Babler State Park! We are offering the following badge programs on teacher professional development days:
First Aid (2 hour activity) – March 2, 3 or 4
Learn the skills that are necessary to prevent accidents and respond to emergencies. Join us as we discuss accident prevention, practice basic first aid, and create a plan for responding when others need help. Make a first aid kit to take home with you! Juniors will work on the First Aid Badge and Webelos will work on the Readyman badge. Fee: $6 per scout.
Geology (2 hour activity) - March 2, 3 or 4
If rocks could talk they would tell us an amazing story of history and adventure. Come and see what rocks can show us! Experiment with erosion, investigate fossils, and examine the properties of rocks and minerals. Make a rock collection to take home iwth you! Cub Scouts will meet the requirements of the Geology Belt Loop & Pin, and Juniors will meet the requirements of Rocks Rock. Fee: $6 per scout.
Creek Walk (2 hour activity) - May 4, 5 or 6
Explore the amazing aquatic ecosystem of Babler State Park! We'll catch crawdads, follow the fish, investigate the water cycle and get our feet wet! Please dress to get wet and wear closed toe water shoes. Bring a towel and change of clothes. This class will meet at the picnic area near the Walnut Grove Shelter. Fee: $6 per scout.
Badge Programs by Appointment
Babler OEC offers badge programs by appointment for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. There are a variety of environmental education, outdoor skill and craft programs to choose from. Appointments are set on a first come, first serve basis and availability depends on the Outdoor Education Center schedule. Fees range from $3 - 10 per scout, depending upon the program. Call the office today to inquire about after school, half-day and weekend programs.
Online registration is not available for the above programs.
